Promotionally Speaking…is it worth it?

Always…Generally when you do promotions you are receiving more exposure than only buying media. The media wants you to see success, and will do all they can to make the experience a good one. My suggestion is to grab the exposure when it is being offered.

That being said, you don’t want to do a promotion just to do a promotion. There needs to be a reason for the activity. It may be celebrating a new product on sale, an anniversary of your business, a grand opening of a new location, a vendor you buy from could be having a national event or many other reasons. As long as there is reason to promote, it is good to promote.

Steps to take in a promotion are critical. You want to make sure you have the amount of product necessary for increased business. All of your marketing needs to be in sync, pointing toward the promoted product. And your employees need to be aware of the promotion taking place.

Are the media ready to execute? Double check that everything is ready to go with your media of choice. Have fun with it. Keep track of successes and areas to improve. This will help you when you do another promotion. If everything is ready to go, then it will definitely be worth it!

What are your challenges when it comes to promotions? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next time…
