Contacting Prospective Clients

Submitted by Mitch Seigel on Tues, 03/29/2016

As more and more technology has entered the business world, it has also increased the number of ways to connect with prospective clients. It has also developed several defense mechanisms for your prospects to avoid your attempts to connect.

So what do you do to connect to your prospects? Phone, email, text, make friends with the assistant, drop by…My suggestion is to vary your approach. Do this so you don’t become a pest and to determine which is the best way to make contact for each specific client.

Once you know which method of communication is best for each prospect, be consistent in our approach. If you have done your homework well, making connections should be much easier. As each new prospect reaches your prospect list, determine communication methods immediately so you can quickly move forward in your relationship.

If you can’t figure out which way to contact your prospect, either ask them directly when you reach them, or ask their assistant. If both avoid giving you a line of communication, it may be a sign that you need to spend your time elsewhere with other prospects. At the end of the day, this is saving our time and hopefully making you money!

What are your challenges when it comes to contacting prospective clients? I look forward to hearing your comments. Until next time…
